Locals and visitors alike proclaim the South Branch of the Raritan River to be among the best stream fishing in the state, and the best part of the South Branch just happens to be on the property of the Raritan Inn.

"Thank you for a wonderful stay!  As long as there are fish rising in the river, we'll be coming back here to stay for the weekend!
...Amanda & David

Fishing on our section of the river is available for a fee through our arrangement with Shannon's Fly & Tackle.  This grants professionally guided access to 4300' of stocked private waters with six identifiable fishing "beats."

Shannon's can also provide fly casting instruction, hosts fly tying seminars at the Inn, and maintains a fully stocked showroom on Main Street, Califon.  Take advantage of free fly-tying lessons offered at Shannon's each Sunday morning at 9:30.

The stream is fly-fishing, catch and release only.

Free public access fishing is also available close by at the Ken Lockwood Gorge and Teetertown Ravine.  Feel free to bring your own equipment.
